STATION 6 DETAILING TABLE It all comes together in the last construction stages with the addition of unique hardware and the integration of functional details like handles, buckles and closures. The ﬁnal Detailing Table provides the means for participants to pull it all together and make their leather design dreams come true. 6 STATION 1 TANNER’S BAR Modelled after ECCO Leather’s own progressive leather design and R&D facility in the Netherlands, a visitor’s engagement with the nomadic Factory Petit mini-studio begins at the portable Tanner’s Bar. Here participants are provided with the intel and low down on a range of ECCO Leather’s intrinsic leather qualities including both premium classic skins as well as those representing cutting edge tanning technology. 1 STATION 2 CUTTING STATION The journey leather takes from tanning to 2 ﬁnished product is partly deﬁned by the way it’s cut and the patterns employed in forming and assembling a leather item’s design. The Cutting Station is where visitors experience this key com- ponent of the creative process. 5 STATION 5 FINISHING CORNER The product ﬁnishing process can be applied to the assembled item to bring out highlights and focus leather eﬀects within targeted areas of a product’s form. This added character and dimension can be reproduced with a fully operational brushing, polishing and burnishing machine installed in the Finishing Corner. 4 STATION 4 ARTISAN ASSEMBLY ZONE New product applications can be best appreciated when leather-election, pattern-creation and ﬁnishing treatments are literally stitched together into a single product concept. Whether realised by a skilled machinist or by hand sewing or a combination of both - the Artisan Assembly Zone allows participants to see their ideas magically take shape in three dimensions. 3 STATION 3 WAX & COLOR CENTER Leather’s unique ability to deliver a range of layered optical eﬀects, hand feel characteristics, contact temperatures, substance levels and draping behaviour can be informed and ﬁnessed by the integration of wax, oil and dyeing materials. These processes represent crucial stages in the realisation of unique high quality leathers and the Wax & Color Center is where this all happens.
